A member asked:

Why should you take coumadin (warfarin) after getting a pacemaker placement?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Coumadin/pacemaker: Warfarin is not routinely administered after getting a pacemaker. We would prescribe warfarin if the pacemaker patient had an indication for the anticoagulation such as atrial fibrillation at risk of thromboembolism.
