Define "Diarrhea": Stool texture (regardless of volume or frequency of movements) is defined by the bristol stool scale (bss), which ranges from 1 (hard, pellet stool) to 7 (loose, watery stool). Normal stool grades a 4 on the bss. On the other hand, "diarrhea" is defined by volume and stool frequency (typically more than 4-5 bowel movements/day). Tell your doctor as well about bleeding, fever, tenderness/pain.

No absolute : Answer here, but most would consider very loose stool with a prominent watery component to be diarrhea.

Diarrhea: Hi, loose stools everyday, depending upon the duration and frequency and the time of the day or night, can have various causes. If theres is blood, mucus, fevers, wt loss or pain while defecating then you need to see your pcp/gi. Keeping a food chart to see a temporal co-relation to certain foods will help (esp with lactose intolerance). Blood work ; stools studies will help for clarification.

Don't ignore it: This is well worth seeing your provider who may do a stool for fat, culture or other new stool test. If fats and carbohydrates are not being absorbed, they may allow this change to occur. It is easily treatable but only after appropriate testing.
