Adjacent teeth: After root canal therapy is completed successfully on a tooth that tooth will no longer feel hot and cold sensitive. Have the teeth around that tooth checked.

A different tooth: A tooth that has had a root canal can fail but the symptoms will be pressure or throbbing. If you are having hot and cold sensitivity it is most likely a different tooth.
