Awareness: the specific definition of palpitations is feeling your heart beat - which in general is good :-) it can range from feeling the pulse when in a quiet room - to actual abnormal beats - extra beats from a sensitive spot - to extra circuits conducting beats, or the top part of the heart going out of rhythm and beating chaotically - depends on what is going on as to the cause
