Tests differ: Coumadin (warfarin) and Heparin prevent clots in different ways and the two tests measure different things. the Partial THromboplastin Time (PTT) is affected by heparin not Coumadin (warfarin). The opposite is true about the INR. Therefore the tests are drug specific
