When should someone go to the emergency room for a kidney infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fever, feeling badly: A kidney infection, or pyelonephritis, usually arises from an infection elsewhere in the urinary tract and more rarely carried to the kidney from another infection site through the bloodstream. An ER visit is needed if you have high fevers, feel dizzy or feel badly. It is vital to check the urine to see if there is an active infection and possibly imaging studies and get antibiotic treatment
