Two Kinds of Pain: It is possible that sex now will hurt physically, but (1) it is more likely that you will have emotional symptoms, and (2) even the physical pain (vaginismus, for example,) is likely to be emotionally grounded. Try taking sex slowly, so you can relax while doing it. Stop or pause if you need. Don't try to force anything. Talk to your partner ahead of time, so (s)he can understand and help you.
