A member asked:

What's the difference between hycodan and hydrocodone?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hycodan (hydrocodone) has addition: of homatropine, which is a anticholinergic drug used as a drying agent in people with runny noses and other congestive cold symptoms. The hydrocodone in hycodan is in smaller doses that is found with usual hydrocodone being used for pain. The hydrocodone in Hycodan is there for its anti-jussive (cough) effect, not for pain. If you take too much hycodan, you get side effects from too much atropine.
