A member asked:

What happens when a person is prescribed eskalith (lithium carbonate) and does not really need it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Really ?: This is a lithium preparation most often used in the treatment of bipolar disorder. This is a most difficult problem to treat in that our patients are resistant to the diagnosis and don't want to take the med as that means they accept the diagnosis. Please discuss this further with your dr.
