FLU shots are very: important to prevent unnecessary deaths and often to prevent or lessen disease. This year we will be dealing with an antigenically-drifted influenza A virus (H3N2) - so it may not be covered as well by this years's Trivalent & Quadrivalent vaccines. In spite of this, influenza vaccination is strongly recommended.
