Transdermal: Enzyme that converts testosterone into Dht (too much is associated w/hair loss & enlarged prostate) is found in hair follicles. Typical branded topical testosterone is very dilute and requires application over larger surface area, thus increasing dht. Injectable t is less likely to do so unless you spike levels by injecting once monthly (or your body has propensity to convert t into dht).
