Conjoined twins: The term "Siamese twins" isn't used medically any longer and may be considered a somewhat crude term for conjoined twins who are identical twins who did not fully separate from each other in the very early stages of development during gestation(prior to birth). Identical twins are really natural "clones"-- a single fertilized egg that split early long before birth into two fully separated beings.
