Rare and life-long: It's very rare - way less than 100 documented cases and it's from early in life - it doesn't 'start' suddenly in adulthood. Also the memory is for ALL things - even the most tiny, boring details of unimportant, non-traumatic things. I suppose that a traumatic event would also be remembered in detail, but not necessarily differently than the toast this A.M. Forget it! You can. PTSD help is good
