A member asked:

If someone is addicted to hard drugs, are they also more likely to be addicted to cigarettes?

Not necessarily: The most responsible answer is, it depends on the person. Some can get addicted very quickly to comparatively mild drugs such as nicotine from cigarettes, and try harder drugs and not be addicted to them at all, and likewise the reverse. It truly depends, as I say, on the person. Much the same could be say about what people do and do not like in general.

Perhaps: There is experimental evidence that using nicotine brfoe other drugs makes addiction to those drugs more likeley-. In addition, cocaine and amphetamine issues also tend to make if more difficult to control nicotine
