Doctor visit : Did they have a traumatic experience? Start "practicing " at home with what the doctor will be doing. Get a toy doctor set and your child can pretend to take blood pressure, listen to the heart, and check ears. At the office, bring a toy or game for them to play with during exam. I encourage young children to bring a teddy bear or doll with them to appointment & I examine the bear or doll first.

Scared of doctors : Talking to your child often about doctor visit, preparing them for getting shots ahead of time, don't make it a total surprise, read children's books about doctor visit, get a Dr kit toy set, make them practice on you or other family members & their dolls, watch Docmekstufing with them, I hope the D r offers them a sticker or any other reward for being cooperative. Best wishes .
