How can i handle withdrawal from benzodiazepines?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Go slow, work w doc: 1. A slow, gradual dose taper is best. Go especially slowly as you approach zero. This can take weeks or more in tough cases. 2. Decrease the daily dose, don't stretch out the time between doses. 3. Sometimes it helps to substitute a different benzo (or phenobarbital) that has a longer half-life. 4. Work closely with your prescribing doctor. Good luck!
