When is a mr spectroscopy used and what conditions is it mainly used to diagnose?

Dr. Michael Gabor

MR spectroscopy: allows tissue to be interrogated for the presence and concentration of various metabolites. It often doesn't add much, but can be useful in the evaluation of brain tumors, radiation effects, ischemia/infarction, brain infection, and certain white matter diseases.
