Abdominal distension: If the abdominal distension is the new onset and acute, need to make sure it is not an acute abdomen, like intestinal obstruction, perforation, intra-abdominal bleeding etc. Have it checked out ASAP. If it is a chronic problem and is one of the episode it may be irritable bowel with intestinal motility problem, It could be treated with medications.
