Cycle changes: may be due to hormonal fluctuations, stress, tension, anxiety, illness, virgorous sexual activity, vaginitis or cervicitis- you should keep a mesntrual calendar and see you GYN for a pelvic exam if bleeding persists.

Breakthrough bleed: This sounds like breakthrough bleeding, which usually occurs after an annovulatory cycle, but can also be due to early pregnancy, skipped birth control pill or even bleeding from an inflammed cervix after sex. If it happens several times it might require an evaluation, but this is relatively common.

You need tan exam: If you are not on any medications that could possibly explain your bleeding ; you need a gynecological evaluation which may include blood tests as well as cultures to rule out infection or hormonal dysfunction.
