I would not: Nyquil usually has acetaminophen, and antihistamine and dextromethorphan. Two of these three drugs you do not need while you are pregnant. The usual nyquil also has alcohol. I would ask your ob doc what you should take for a cold. Best wishes.

Cold medicine: Over the counter cold meds are antihistamines, decongestants and tylenol (acetaminophen). Generally these are considered safe in low risk moms

Best not but shdb OK: Nyquil contains acetaminophen, doxylamine or diphenhydramine (sedating antihistamines) & dextromethorphan (cough suppressant). It also has a small amount of alcohol in it. Doxylamine is approved for the first trimester, & is probably safe throughout but the effects of it on the fetus (like most medications) are unknown. U can get dextromethorphan (cough syrup) by itself without resorting to Nyquil.

It is discouraged: Due to the high alcohol content.
