Yes: Yes. Certain kidney(renal) problems can affect every other organ and body system from your skin to your heart. If you believe you have a kidney "problem" you should seek medical counsel from your primary care physician.

Yes they can: Can cause: elevated blood pressure which -> heart attacks, headaches, strokes etc. Fluid retention -> ankle & eyelid swelling + shortness of breath. Renal diabetes insipidus -> xs fluid loss, thirst, frequent urination & bedwetting. Severe kidney damage -> lack of erythropoetin production -> bone marrow suppression anemia, also electrolyte disturbances.Hydronephrosis -> nausea, vomiting, abdo pain.
