Unable to conceive: Period irregularity is not uncommon, but it appears you get a period about every 6 -8 weeks. OTC ovulation tests may help you if you are trying to conceive, since there is a short window for conception .The egg is viable for only 24 hours after ovulation and sperm lives only 3-5 days(max 7) in the vaginal tract. If it has been > 1 year trying seek fertility input. f/u w/doc
