A member asked:

If you have a full stomach? to get more effect from your medicine should it be taken by letting dissolve under your tounge so food won't soak up meds?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies: Some medications should be taken with food and some should be taken on an empty stomach. Only a few medications can be taken sublingually (under the tongue). Your pharmacist should be able to tell you the appropriate directions for you medication. The issue is not that food absorbs the medication but may prevent the medication from being absorbed into the body.
