From just high blood: pressure? Years, not days. Those numbers aren't in the range to do that kind of damage in such a short period of time. You need an echocardiogram to evaluate the size of your heart. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy can occur at your age but your docs would have picked that up during your earlier work up. Talk to your provider about your concerns.

It starts immediately after BP is up but what you need to do is to get a home BP device, have your Dr check it for accuracy and measure it at home. It is the average of all those BPs that predicts LVH. I would also get the app Cronometer and see how much salt (NaCL) your are eating a day. Esp if you use Philippine cooking. Your goal to help BP and likely prevent LVH is less than 1,500 mg Na/d
