Depends : most surgeons agree that maximum strength of your repair reached in 6 weeks. Some surgeons allow laparoscopic repairs to lift normally right away,but limited data to support this. I say wait 6 weeks for heavy lifting otherwise no restrictions to reduce recurrence risk. If gas bloat caused by surgical induced CO2 it will be gone in 72 hours
