I recently developed swelling and pain on the right side of my second right toe. i do have discoid lupus but it doesn't look like a usual sore.

Toe Swelling: There are many reasons a toe can be swollen. Tight shoes, ingrown toenails, corns and calluses, for example, may all cause toes to be swollen and painful. An ingrown toenail may also become infected, which could also be very painful. Lupus, also, may cause swelling and pain. If wearing shoes that are wider and cause less pressure against the toes does no alleviate your problem, see a Podiatris
