A member asked:

I have a son that has accidents.he does poop all the time.everyday.hes 7 yrs old.he is potty trained.but why he has these accidents?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Time for consult: I would have him seen by his PCP and evaluated for stool retention. Passing stool daily does not mean this is not happening. If he makes 6 oz/d but passes 5,its a pbm. If your PCP is unfamiliar with the issue, contact a pediatric Gastroenterologist or developmental pediatrician. The various problems that lead up to this symptom are complex, and often take months and years to resolve with proper help
