A member asked:

My 5.5 month old has recently started solids and has started drinking significantly less formula. what is the min amt of formula she needs each day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Target at least 16oz: It is common for kids to decrease their formula intake when solids are added. At 5.5m solids are more for teaching a new feeding skill than an improvement to diet. Kids getting at least 16 oz of formula per day will get the minimum needed vitamins and other factors they need. You might consider a more gradual increase in solids if baby is not willing to meet this minimum.
