No: Cymbalta (duloxetine) is safe taken long term for depression. You will need to taper off if you ever decide to have a trial off of it.

Not really.: You need a regular physical yearly and when you take any medications long-term, your doctor usually checks your metabolic profile, complete blood count, and general profile to rule out any illnesses and any unusual findings will be monitored. In addition, your dose is low and may just be a maintenance dose. You may want to discuss further with your doctor.
