My mother has a dry throat which is causing her to cough & her throat is paining as well. what to do?

For a dry cough, suppressant syrup like robitussinDM quiets it. If worsening cough or fever develop, have a physician examine her as bronchitis or pneumonia may be present. Because she has a cough, a strep infection is not likely.
