Ovulation returning?: After delivering a baby, and starting breastfeeding, a woman's ovulation will return after a variable amount of time. If her periods are irregular the first couple of months when they start to return, she can call her ob-gyn doctor to see if there is anything to worry about in her individual case. If she has had unprotected sex, she can do a urine pregnancy test and begin a type of contraceptive.
