Difficult...: It is difficult to tell how normal this is in your case without taking a look at it.Certainly after having a vaginal delivery the tissue may stretch and suffer some changes depending on how big the baby was and your body's capacity to tolerate it. You should not have bleeding or severe pain. Some women may have some residual discomfort. See GYN doctor for a direct exam as soon as you can.

Postpartum visit: Postpartum visits, at least in the Midwest are included in your global fee for your delivery. From what you describe it sounds like you had a breakdown of your episiotomy site. This should be evaluated by a doctor and repaired. The repair does not have to be immediate but really should be done if only for your own comfort.

Visit your OBGYN: It's really important for you to follow up with your obstetrician after delivery. Postpartum checkups offer women and their health care providers a chance to review the pregnancy and delivery, and discuss possible red flags, family planning and any ongoing concerns. In your case, it's imperative to be examined and a treatment plan to be established before complications follow.
