Valve leak: This is also called valvular insufficiency. The valves are there to ensure that blood passes in one direction through the heart. If the valve is incompetent, when it closes, it still allows blood to flow back through it, and your heart must pump this blood again. If mild, no treatment is usually needed. The valves are evaluated periocically with an echo. If severe, repair or replacement.
