Yes: After delivering a baby, a woman will not resume menstrual periods for months. The time could be a few or many months. It varies a great deal among women. Often, a non-breastfeeder gets her menses after 2-4 months, a typical breast-feeder has her period after 6-8 months, and the few exclusively breastfeeding moms might go a year without menses. A woman can get pregnant before first menses returns.
