A member asked:

My mom has failing kidneys due to diabetes, what are ways to alleviate or slow down the dangerous process of kidney failure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diabetes and BP: Hi. The two biggest factors that might help are good diabetes and blood pressure control, but the kidneys get to a point where nothing will help. We don't know how far along your mom's kidney disease has progressed. I hope she is seeing a nephrologist in addition to good diabetes and blood pressure control. Good luck to her!
