Painful lump under chin. what could it be?

Lump under chin: It depends on exactly where this lump is, but my first guess is an inflamed submental lymph node. Typically lymph nodes swell and become tender while trying to fight off some nearby infection. In this case, typically a dental problem or upper respiratory infection. If it persists, please see your doctor..
