Controversial: 2 types of plastic are currently objects of concern: PVC which may contain phthalate plasticizers (labeled type 3) which may be endocrine/hormone disrupters; and polycarbonate, which is made from bisphenol-a, another endocrine disruptor (labeled type 7).
