Possible, unlikely: Occasionally a woman can mistake a miscarriage for a heavy period. The timing may be consistent with an expected menstrual period, but bleeding from miscarriage is what is actually happening. In this situation, the pregnancy test may be negative. In reality, this situation is probably more common than we realize. Nothing to do but carry on, using contraception if you want..or not. Best wishes:)
