Taking for pain?: All pain medications can make some people feel "high". If you taking this for pain then it is less likely. If you are taking it to get high, then you are risking your life.

Fiorinal w Codeine: Per FDA, Fiorinal must have at least 188mg aspirin per 15mg butalbital (188:15) to meet CSA exemption. The ratio is believed to be enough nonnarcotic to reduce the abuse potential of butalbital. Codeine has been used recreationally, but doesn't usually cause a "high". Fiorinol without Cod: The Codeine probably doesn't add a lot to the effectiveness. This med is responsible for a lot of rebound or transformed migraine development.
Dr. John Barbuto
Specializes in Neurology
The terms "rebound" and "transformed migraine" are in the literature; yet, these labels are provided without biological proof that the hypothesized mechanism is actually present. Conversely, the labels are applied to patients who have frequent symptoms that they "chase" with pain pills recurrently. The pivotal issue is this situation.

Does fiorinal with codeine (aspirin butalbital caffeine and codeine) give you the high feeling like hydrocodone?

Maybe: It depends upon your individual metabolism. With that said, Codeine is considered less of an addictive narcotic/opioid than hydrocodone. However, it can still affect your thinking process so only take it if you absolutely have to do so.
