May be mechanical: You will need clarification. Usually with arthritis the knee can hurt when you are walking but there are certain types that are better when you walk. Also depending on position the knee your cartilage can slip in and out and that can explain this. Your physician can evaluate you and decide if you need to see a rheumatologist or an orthopedic surgeon.
