Deterioration: of the CNS and liver. Indeed, 1 in 20 with Wilson's present in their 20's with a failed liver. Dramatic. Majority of the patients show stabilization of the disease on medical treatment. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23006462

Liver/neuro failure: Untreated, Wilson's disease can progress to liver failure and neurological disability and possibly death. With treatment, individuals with Wilson's disease have normal life expectancy. However, without treatment, individuals can expect issues with the brain, liver, eyes and psychiatric manifestations. Each individual is different so there are not set patterns of disease
