Omega 3 plus plavix (clopidogrel): You are well informed. Omega 3 can affect platelet adhesion to endovascular cells, and this is a step in clot formation. Plavix (clopidogrel) affects platelet adhesion, too. Health benefits of omega 3 do exist and extend beyond platelets --- and risks can be managed.

Concerning: Before you take omega 3's under any circumstances, especially if you are already a heart patient, ask your physician for his/her best advice. The last several studies of the value of these medicines were very discouraging. Be sure you're getting scientific rather than "pop" advice.

Take combo: I have seen that also but the people that I know of taking the combination haven;t had any abnormal bleeding that I am aware.

Possible bleeding: The combination has known side effect of bleeding in varying ranges but doesn't seem to affect every individual. Your own individual risk for this complication will depend upon your blood profile which you should get checked with your doctor.

It can: Both have antiplatelet effects, though obviously Plavix (clopidogrel) more so than omega's. You should review this with your doctor to make sure it's worth the risk(albeit minor one).

Not statistically...: significant. That said, if you start bruising easily, your gums start bleeding, you start to feel weak, dizzy or lightheaded, start coughing up sputum or throwing up vomit looking bloody or like dark coffee grounds, or having black, tarry or bright red BMs, tell your doctor. Same warnings for use of any anti-coagulant monotherapy. See http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/19801023/ & discuss w/ doc
