They lower: triglycerides, a type of cholesterol. however if you are allergic to it you may break out. the only way to know is to stop it and see if the rash goes away. not sure if has anything to do with balancing hormones

Good quality: marine fish oil has many research-based benefits. It makes the platelets silky so if you are on a blood thinner consult w/doc. Some folks take 6-8 caps daily under supervision. Poor quality MFO can be contaminated w/toxins so get a good brand that has been purified and is 50% EPA & 50 % DHA. Peace and good health. If allergic to fish you can have a reaction. It doesn't balance hormones.
