Take a while.: Pneumonia is a serious disease and it takes a longer time to improve than with less serious illnesses. If you have fever or are short of breath, or bad headache, etc., go to the ER. Rest, fluids, eat healthy food and give your body a chance to heal. Take all meds as prescribed. Follow up with your doctor as instructed. But call your doc and find out if you need to be seen.

Symptoms last longer: If your pneumonia wasxdiagnosed by a qualified doctor, LP know that cough and othercconstitutional symptoms like weakness etc, may continue for a couple of months even after treatment. However, the 5 day antibiotic course( probably a Z pack) also may have provided less than an ideal coverage for the germs causing the pneumonia, which only remained partly treated. It is time to back to your doctor.
