No: Iron pills are for iron deficiency anemia. Follow up with your gynecologist.It's unlikely to be anything serious if the irregular periods have been going on a while.

Depends...: iron pills would only be helpful if you actually have iron deficiency anemia. If you have heavy periods then you may develop iron deficiency anemia. Your doctor can do a blood test to determine of you have iron deficiency anemia so see your doctor for testing if you are concerned. Good luck!!!
