Nerves: If PCP and cardiologist have ruled out heart problems, the most likely is intercostal neuralgia. Nerves running between the ribs can get irritated and cause shooting pains wrapping around the torso. If not, intercostal neuralgia, trigger points (muscle spasms) can cause referred pain. Any of these can readily be addressed by your chiropractor.

Anxiety: If cardiologist is reassuring that the pain is non cardiac, then the pain either is musculoskeletal- skeletal or anxiety related or both. Take some OTC anti inflammatory and apply heat and cold alternatively for a few days and continue to do relaxation exercises.
