Thorough tooth brushing and flossing should be second nature. It’s important to remember that maintaining oral health keeps gingivitis from evolving into periodontal disease.

Chicken or the egg: The fact is that gum disease is worse in patients with RA, but we are not certain what comes first, the gum disease or the RA? Regardless, the treatment for gum disease is to keep good oral hygiene, in addition to periodontal and medical treatments.
