Ethylene glycol: Ethylene glycol, the main ingredient in anti-freeze, is toxic to the body. Once ingested it is converted to glycol acid and causes effects on central nervous system, cardiopulmonary system, and renal failure. The symptoms /signs range from nausea, vomiting, hyperventilation, seizure, coma, metabolic acidosis and renal failure.
