Ethylene Glycol: Symptoms of anti-freeze ingestion are due to the toxicity of ethylene glycol and the signs and symptoms varies depending on the dose and the time elapsed. Initial symptoms are similar to those seen in alcohol intoxication. Ethylene glycol causes acute renal failure, coma, and seizures.
