Tuberculosis: TB can infect almost any tissue in the body. It's most classically associated with lung infection however, and has characteristic findings on X-rays. The bacteria can spread or travel outside of the lungs though to the lingings of the lungs, the lymph nodes, kidneys and other organs. We refer to that as 'extra-pulmonary' TB as opposed to PTB or pulmonary TB. Best to see an ID doc if questions.
